History
Westside Catholic School was formed in 1974 from three established parochial schools faced with declining enrollment and the need to expand programs. After several years of much foresight and extensive planning, the final results became Westside Catholic Consolidated School, later known as Westside Catholic School. The three parish campuses include Sacred Heart, St. Agnes and St. Boniface. As an outreach for our Catholic school program, students are also enrolled from St. Mary’s, St. Anthony, and St. Joe parishes.
In 1995, the preschool that had been established by Sacred Heart Parish joined the K-8 program. In early 2000, it was decided, with School Board approval, Westside Catholic Consolidated School (WCCS) would become Westside Catholic School (WCS).
Beginning in 2004, kindergarten through grade 3 were located at the St. Agnes Campus, and grades 4-8 comprised the St. Boniface Campus. In 2009, grade 4 moved to the St. Agnes Campus and in 2013, grade 5 moved to the St. Agnes Campus as well. In 2017, grades 4 and 5 moved back over to the St. Boniface Campus to make space for preschool, who moved over to the St. Agnes Campus in the summer of 2018. At this time, WCS consists of one parish (St. Boniface Parish), with two campus locations, two priests, one Director of Religious Education, two Principals, 18 full-time teachers/employees and 14 part-time teachers/employees.
