Picture
Kristie Elsner is the sixth, seventh, and eighth grade science teacher at Westside Catholic School. She has been teaching at Westside Catholic since 1991. She has a B.A. in Agricultural Sciences from the University of Illinois, a science teaching certification from the University of Southern Indiana and a Masters in Biology from Clemson University.  Mrs. Elsner likes to use differentiated instruction each day in her classes. She uses hands-on activities as well as writing, reading, technology and visual aids as much as possible.
Mrs. Elsner loves the sense of community felt at Westside Catholic School, as well as everyone's willingness to help others. She loves it when former students come back and tell of their successes in various fields of Science. Mrs.
Elsner has been married for 38 years to her husband, Jim. She has 3 children and 5 grandchildren. When not teaching she enjoys running, cycling, swimming, gardening, and reading historical novels and books about nature.  She is also attempting to hike in every National Park in the United States.
